Just got back from a trip to Julian. The drive there from Escondido was absolutely gorgeous, as was the Cedar Creek Falls Saddleback Trail hike. Wildflowers all the way. Learned about Julian’s mining days (1870-1934) and pioneer history through an excellent tour with the Eagle Mining Company and a visit to the old cemetery. Today, Julian is a PCT hikers’ stop, and is known for apples. Made sure to have some apple cider and apple pie. Drove home with a stop in Old Town Temecula. Check out my L.A. Ghost Wheels post of Julian and Temecula vintage cars!
