Snail's Postcard Post

Think of the Children

While going through Grandma Snail’s photographs for the last two posts on her WWII sweathearts (check them out if you haven’t already!), I reencountered two 1920s postcards of Grandpa Snail’s. They’re so sweet I think I’m going to hang them up in my shell.

IMG_5758Don’t they look straight out of Our Gang/The Little Rascals? This is Grandpa Snail’s class in Council Bluffs, Iowa where he was born in 1920. I’m guessing the class is in first grade or so, making the date c. 1926. Grandpa Snail is first on the left in the second row. (The photo is a little enlarged. Actual size 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″)IMG_5759

I’m thinking this next one is from Grandpa Snail’s family, but I don’t know who Ben Hur here is, so I’m not positive.
