Snail's Postcard Post

A Week of Postcards

I’ve acquired quite a few postcards this week!

Trina Turk going Zandra Rhodes!

If you haven’t heard of Zócalo, it’s a Los Angeles-based public lecture series (including panels, screenings, etc.) on issues of wide-ranging interest. While occasionally traveling to other cities, it also accessible through its journalistic website of podcasts, articles, etc.

These are not new postcards, but they are new to me. Among some keepsakes Mama Snail received from Grandma Snail, these Yosemite shots appear to be from the 1960’s or ’70s.

Moving on to the ’80s, here’s a fabulous postcard of Ella Fitzgerald in Beverly Hills in 1988. Photograph by one of the ultimate celebrity portraitists, particularly of musicians, Annie Leibovitz.
